LAW 875: Alternatives to the Civil Justice System: The Federal 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund

This one-credit short course will use the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund as a vehicle to initiate a broader assessment of the arguments for and against administrative, no-fault compensation regimes, like the 9/11 Fund, as alternatives to tort litigation. The course will introduce students to advanced tort doctrine as well as public policy arguments and pragmatic considerations arising from the actual operation of the 9/11 Fund. Enrollment limited.
