Judicial Reputation: A Conference on Neglected Justices - April 3-5, 2008
The aim of this conference is to investigate the question of judicial reputation by examining the lives and work of Supreme Court justices who were notable in their own time but who have since received little attention from scholars, lawyers or judges. The presentations will shed light not only on the vicissitudes of judicial reputation but also on the art of judging and on substantive jurisprudential matters.
The conference begins Thursday, April 3, at 4 p.m. with the Keynote Address by G. Edward White, David and Mary Harrison Distinguished Professor of Law, University of Virginia School of Law, which is open to the Vanderbilt community.
