Curriculum vitae

Katherine Simpson Allen is a member of Stites & Harbison based in its Nashville office, where her practice focuses on commercial financial services and commercial transactions. She is the author of the 1987-2002 annual supplements to Tennessee Practice: Uniform Commercial Code Forms and Commentary (Thompson West Group), and a former co-editor of the Commercial Law Newsletter, published quarterly by the ABA Section of Business Law’s UCC Committee and Commercial Financial Services Committee. Professor Allen chaired the Tennessee Bar Association and Tennessee Bankers Association Joint Study Committee on Revised UCC Article 9, and has also worked formally and informally with both organizations in connection with other UCC legislation in Tennessee. She was recently inducted into the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers and is a past president of the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute. She speaks frequently on UCC and other commercial law issues.
