Bob Tuke is the Democratic candidate for United States Senator from Tennessee, to be elected in November, 2008.

Before his run for Senate, Professor Tuke's private practice focused on corporate and securities, health care and adoption law. He represents Meharry Medical College and is the author of a number of articles on securities, health care and adoption law. Over the course of his career, he has advised clients in connection with SEC investigations, NASD proceedings, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and sophisticated financing transactions.

In addition, Professor Tuke has successfully challenged Tennessee's anti-takeover statutes in federal court, and has also served as recognized bond counsel in the issuance and refunding of various public bond issues. He has served as counsel to corporate directors and special committees and has advised various enterprises and individuals regarding their responsibilities under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Professor Tuke is a Fellow and past president of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, served on the Tennessee Adoption Law Study Commission, and was a principal draftsman of Tennessee's revised Adoption Code.

At Vanderbilt Law School, Professor Tuke teaches Professional and Ethical Considerations in Corporate Practice.
