Over the course of his career, Will Martin has served in diverse roles as a lawyer, businessman and government official. He practiced law, founding a major Nashville law firm, before serving an appointment as head of international policy at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) during the Clinton-Gore Administration.

Today, he is a consultant to both international environmental organizations and domestic businesses, and serves as general counsel for Tennessee-based FirstBank.  He is a Senior Fellow at and consultant to the World Wildlife Fund in Washington, D.C. and chairman of the board of Marine Stewardship Council in London. His interest in the environment is also reflected in his government career, including his service at NOAA, the UN FAO's Committee on Fisheries in Rome, and the International Commission on Atlantic Tunas in Madrid, among others.

At Vanderbilt Law School, Professor Martin teaches International Environmental Law.
