Roger Alsup worked as an associate at the law firm of King & Spalding in Atlanta, Georgia, until 1992, when he returned to Nashville to practice corporate and transactional law for closely held businesses. Professor Alsup has taught legal writing at the Law School since 1995. As a law student, he was a member of the Washington & Lee Law Review and served as Senior Lead Articles Editor.
