LL.M. Career Services

Many LL.M. students wish to apply what they learn during their year at Vanderbilt Law School in the professional environment by seeking short-term practical training and/or permanent employment upon graduation. Although this can be a challenging process, the Career Services Office is committed to providing individual assistance throughout the year. Recent Vanderbilt LL.M. graduates are employed in firms, government, corporations, non-profits, academe, and other settings in the U.S. and abroad.

We offer informational meetings orienting you to the legal job market in the United States, as well as individual assistance in developing a strategic plan for your job search. We also guide you through the process of developing a strong resume and cover letters, and provide opportunities for practice interviews. Our office includes a Resource Center that affords access to extensive materials in hard copy or on-line to aid in your job search, and we provide basic business services (copy, fax and print) for your convenience.

Vanderbilt students are invited to attend the International Student Interview Program (ISIP) held in New York in January. Approximately 130 employers from the United States and around the world select students for initial interviews based on the resumes they receive.

Students who are interested in public service may choose to attend the Equal Justice Works Job Fair and Conference, held in Washington, D.C., each October.
