The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy (ACS) is a national organization of law students and professors, practicing lawyers, and others.

  • The mission is to harness the values of compassion and respect for each individual, and to reincorporate them into American law and politics, in order to build a stronger national community.
  • The focus of the society is to promote respect for human dignity, protection of individual rights and liberties, genuine equality, and access to justice.
  • The goal of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy is to restore these values to their rightful place in legal and political debate.

Students in the Vanderbilt ACS chapter organize events and speakers on topics of current interest to law students. Highlights from previous years include a panel discussion among Vanderbilt Law School professors who had served as clerks for U.S. Supreme Court Justices, discussing their respective Justices and their experiences.
