WLSA was organized to promote gender equality in the law, in legal education, and in the legal profession. The organization sponsors speakers, panels, and discussion groups, and encourages all members to get involved in community outreach through volunteer programs that further the goals of the organization. WLSA members also have the opportunity to participate in a mentoring program with the Nashville Lawyer's Association for Women (LAW) and to participate as a team in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Nashville. WLSA membership is open to all members of the law school community who have an interest in gender and the law.
